* Let Us Run With Perseverance (12:1-29)

 

  1. How does the author of Hebrews encourage the Christians for their victorious run of faith? (1-3; 10:36; 2Tim 4:7; Rev 2:10c)  Why do we need to throw off everything that hinders and learn perseverance? (1Jn 2:15-17; Gal 5:13-26)  Why is it necessary to fix our eyes on Jesus and consider him?  What does it mean that Jesus is the pioneer and perfecter of faith?

 

  1. How does the author encourage the Christians in the midst of hardships and sin? (4-8; Rev 3:19; 1Cor 11:32)  What is the connection between discipline and love?  What is the purpose and fruit of God’s discipline? (9-11; Rom 8:28)  What spiritual insight and struggle do we need in the midst of discipline through hardships? (1-10; 12,13; Prov 1:7)

 

  1. Why does the author exhort us to make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy?  What does it mean to exhort that no one falls short of the grace of God?
