So Joshua said to the Israelites: “How long will you wait before you begin to take possession of the land that the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has given you?

1.Regarding the remaining land to be taken, what promises and commands did God give to Joshua? (13:1-7) What lesson is there for us? (Hb 11:1,8,10,16, 12:2) Describe the division of the land east of the Jordan, given to the tribe of Reuben, to the tribe of Gad, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh. (8-33, Nu32:1-42) How was the land west of the Jordan divided? (14:1-5) Notice the allotment for Caleb.(14:6-15) What can we learn from Caleb’s faith and commitment – claiming the hill country Hebron? (8-9, 12,14)

2.For the allotment of Judah, what are their southern, eastern, northern, and western boundaries? (15:1-19) When Hebron was given to Caleb, what did he do? (13-19) What can we learn from Othniel and his wife Aksah? (15-19) Describe the towns Judah received (20-63) What regions were allotted for Joseph’ descendants? (1-4) Where was the Ephraimites’ territory? (5-9). Why did Judah and Joseph fail to “dislodge” the Jebusites (15:13, 2Sa5:6-7)and the Canaanites(16:10) and what was the consequence? What lesson can we learn -incomplete obedience, compromise?

(17:1-6) Describe the allotted territory for Manasseh.(7-13) Why did they fail to drive out the Canaanites completely? How did Joshua challenge and encourage the tribes of Joseph when they complained about their allotment? (14-18) -”clear it. You can drive them out” *v18)

4.How did Joshua rebuke the seven tribes who had not yet received their inheritance and help them out? (18:1-10) What can we learn about God’s sovereignty and human responsibility from this process? Describe the allotted territory for the tribe of Benjamin (11-28), Simeon (19:1-9), Zebulun (19:10-16), Issachar (19:17-23), Asher(19:24-31), Naphtali (19:32-39), and Dan (19:40-48).
