OFFER YOUR BODIES AS A LIVING SACRIFICE

Romans12_1_2Q (1)

 Romans 12:1-2

Key Verse: 12:1-2

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.  Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of  your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

  1. Read verse 1. What did Paul mean by “In view of God’s mercy”? What are God’s mercies for you explained in Romans 1-11? (Ro3:23-24, 5:8, 8:1) What does Paul urge believers to do? What does it mean to “offer yourselves as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God”? (Ro6:13)

  1. Read verse 1. Why does Paul call this “true and proper worship”? How is God’s mercy  the source and foundation of our new life? How can we live 2026 as a living sacrifice that pleases God rather than conforming to this world?

  1. Read verse 2. What is the pattern of this world and how have we confirmed it in the past? (Eph2:1-3, 1Jn 2:15-17) How can we not conform to it? What does it mean to “be transformed” and how can our minds be renewed?

  1. Read verse 2. What is the result of being transformed? Why is knowing God’s good, pleasing and perfect will important? In view of God’s  mercy and God’s will, what practical decision can we make to live a transformed life?
