THE REDEMPTION AND DISASTER IN GOD’S JUDGEMENT
Revelation 6:1 – 11:19
Key Verse 7:14
* The great multitude out of the great tribulation (6:1-7:17)
1. What could the first four seals with the four horsemen each present? (6:1-8; Zec 6:2-5) Who are the people the fifth seal is about? How does God answer their question and what does this show about his sovereign counsel? (6:9-11) What does the sixth seal show about Jesus’ Judgment? (12-17) What a day is “the great day of their wrath”? (6,17; Phil 1:10; 1 Cor 1:8; Rom 2:5)
2. Who will be sealed, and how will they be sealed? (7:1-8) Who are “a great multitude” before the throne and before the Lamb, and what do they do? (7:9-12) Why can they stand before the lamb? (7:14) What is their great reward? (15-17) How is this heavenly scene a great encouragement for the persecuted believers then and now?
* Two witnesses and the disaster of the stubborn (8:1-11:19)
3. What happened when the seventh seal was opened? (8:1-5) What judgment will come through the first four trumpets? (9:4; Zech 13:8; Isa 2:2; 57:20) What does the fifth trumpet reveal about the severity of God’s judgment? (9:1-6) To whom will this judgment come? (9:4) How is the judgment following the sixth trumpet described? (9:13-19) What is the purpose of the trumpet judgments, but how do the people respond? (9:20-21; 1 Pet 4:17.18)
4. What does the angel proclaim? (10:1-7, Dan 12:1-9) What does it mean to eat the little scroll? (4:8-11; Ez 2:8.9) What Vision did John see? (11:1-2) For what did God appoint two witnesses with his power? (11:3-6) What happens with them when they have finished their mission? (11:7-14) How do these visions strengthen and comfort us, the believers, to be witnesses who prophesy? (Zech 4; Jer 5:14; 1 The 4:17) How do the people respond now? (11:14) As the seventh trumpet sounds, what glorious vision is revealed? (11:15-19)
