YOU GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO EAT L2_MK06_30_44_Spring2026
Mark 6:30-44
Key Verse 6:37a
But he answered, “You give them something to eat.”
- Read verses 30-34. So many people came that they were so busy – they had no time to eat or to go away and rest in a quiet place.
However, how did Jesus respond when he met a desperate crowd and how did he serve them?(33-34, Mt9:36) What do these phrases tell us about Jesus, as a good shepherd?
-“He had compassion on them” (Compassionate Heart)
-“They were like sheep without a shepherd” (Shepherd’s Heart)
-“Teahing them many things” (Teaching the Word of God)
-The way Jesus sees and helps the crowd is quite different from the way we normally do. -If Jesus came today and saw people – particularly the young ones – how do you think he would diagnose their problems, and what would he do for them?
- Read verses 35-37a.
-Describe the difference between the disciples’ approach and Jesus’ approach to the problem.
-What does the disciples’ suggestion reveal about them? (35-36)
-Why do you think Jesus said, “You give them something to eat”?(37a)
- Read verses 37b-38.
-How did they respond to Jesus’ command, which seems impossible to obey?
-Then, why did Jesus ask “How many loaves do you have? Go and see,” even when it seems completely insufficient? (38-40)
-If you were in that situation, would you obey His command? If so, how would you feed them?
- Read verse 41-44. How did Jesus bless their faith that brings “Five loaves and Two Fish”?(41-42) How did the disciples participate? What might Jesus’ disciples have learned from Jesus and His miracle? (43-44)
-From this passage, what Jesus’ character should we imitate as we grow in our faith?
-What mgiht be your “Five loaves and two fish”?
