The Necessity Of The Resurrection  Easter_1Co15_12_19Q

1 Corinthians 15:12-19
Key Verse: 15:12
“Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?”

1. Read Verses 12-13. What is the good news that Paul proclaimed? Yet, what were some in the Corinthian church saying (12), and why do you think they were doing this? What does Paul point out first (13)? What would this world be like without Christ’s resurrection?

2. What does Paul say about this next (14), and why would this be true? What else does Paul say (15), and how does this help us understand how the resurrection is possible (cf. Ac2:23–24; Mt22:29)?

3. What does Paul repeat (16), what does he tell the Corinthians (17), and how is Christ’s resurrection related to our lives right now (cf. Ro4:24–25)?

4. What more does Paul say would be a consequence if there is no resurrection (18), and how would this contradict God’s promise (1Th4:13–14)?

5. What is Paul’s conclusion (19), and why would this be the case (1Co4:11–13; 2Co6:4–5,8–10)? What is our ultimate hope in Christ (1Pe1:3–4)? How does this passage help us understand the power of death and the power of the resurrection of Jesus?
