THE BLESSED LIFE OF THE OVERCOMERS

Rev_L5_GELF2024_Latest

Revelation               15:1 – 16:21

Key Verse               16:15

* The song of the overcomers (15:1-8)

  1. What are the two great and marvelous signs in chapter 15 about? When are they going to happen?  What do the “seven plagues” mean?  By whom and for what purpose is the judgment through the last plagues planned and prepared? (1,5,6)  Who are those who had been victorious? (13:17)  What do they do? (2; 14:1-3; 13:18)  Who is the beast?  What is the Song of the Overcomers about?  Why is the song of the overcomers called the song of Moses and of the lamb? (Ex 15:1-18)

  1. What does the preparation for the Last Judgment in verses 5 to 7 show? What does the angel’s clothing teach us?  What is the meaning of the fact that no one could enter the temple until the seven plagues were completed? (8)  What does the contrast of the two signs teach about God’s judgment regarding the overcomers and antichrists? (Isa 6:1-4; Ex 40:34.35; Ex 19:18)  How can we also live as overcomers in this time of preparation for God’s judgement? (12:11)

* God’s true and just judgement (16:1-21)

  1. What sovereign action of God is shown by the first four angels concerning the judgment? (1-4) What does this show about the nature of sin and idolatry?  How does God show that his judgement is true and just? (5-7; 6:9,10)  What happens to the throne of the beast and what does this show us? (13:6-8)  What consequences do people bring upon themselves because of their unrepentance? (8-11)  What consequences can we draw in the face of God’s judgment before it is too late?

  1. Describe the events after the pouring out of the sixth bowl (12-14,16; 2Thess 2:9-12) What orientation does Jesus give his believers in the midst of this judgment and why? (15; Rom 13:13,14)  What happened when the seventh angel poured out his bowl? (17-21)  What is the meaning of “It is done!”? (Jn 19:30; Mt 27:50-52)  How do you want to live as an overcomer in this end time before God‘s judgment comes? (Mt 24:37-44; Lk 17:26-30)
