Ezekiel 37:1-14
Key verse 37:10       

So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.”   

 

 

1.     What do you know about the prophet Ezekiel and his time? What was the situation of his people and himself? Where did the Spirit of the Lord bring him out to? How would he feel when Ezekiel saw a great many bones that were very dry? (1-2)

 

2.     What did God ask Ezekiel? How did he answer? (3) How did his answer show his faith?

 

3.     What did God command Ezekiel to do to the dry bones?(4-6) Why might it have been difficult to obey God’s command? What happened, when he prophesied through the obedience of faith? (7-8a) As a bible teacher/shepherd, what can we learn from Ezekiel?

 

4.     What was lacking in the newly formed bodies? What does it mean? (8) What happened when Ezekiel prophesied again as God commanded?(9-10) Think about the power of God’s word and the importance of proclaiming God’s word. What can we learn about the obedience of faith and prayer from Ezekiel?

 

5.     Why did the Israelites think their hope was gone? (11) What was God’s promise to the people of Israel? (12, 13a, 14a) What would God do these things for them? (13b, 14b)

 

6.   What do you see when you are on a college campus? Who is the Lord who made a vast army from the dry bones? What is the hope and vision we can have in God for the New Year?
